Emmy 2011: the nominees are…

The biggest stars of American television will meet tomorrow night at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles for the 63rd edition of the Emmy Awards.

On top of the favorites, Mad Men and Modern Family led the TV Academy’s nominees.

In addition, there are Boardwalk Empire and the Game of Thrones, two shows produced by HBO which have won great public acclaim and criticism.

30 Rock and Glee have also scored plenty of nominations.

The ceremony will be hosted by Jane Lynch, whom first-time Emmy producer Mark Burnett called, “an energy force of light and positive fun.”

Lynch has revealed her anxiety about hosting such an important event.

“I actually had the gall to compare it to playing Hamlet,” she said. “When you look at playing Hamlet, you go, ‘Oh, my God, I’m playing Hamlet.’ You’re going to freak out. But if you say, ‘I’ve got this speech, I’ve got this scene, I’ve got this soliloquy,’ it’s reasonable.”
