Things haven’t been looking great for Mel Gibson in the past two years.

After having his marital disputes widely covered in the media and recently becoming persona non grata (he was taken out of the cast for the “Very bad trip 2” movie), it was time we saw him in a more optimistic stance.

So, fortunately for him, a little happiness came to enliven the dark days. On Sunday afternoon, after attending mass at his church in Malibu, Mel spent some quality time with his daughter and other parishioners, TMZ revealed.

Seated at a small table with another child, Lucia enjoyed being cuddled and pampered by her father. Judging by the smile on her face, the one-year-old was obviously happy to be in the company of her dad and other children.
