George Clooney was “creating distance” before split from Elisabetta Canalis

The tension between them was strong for several months. The origin of the disagreement goes back to their stay in Mexico for the New Year.

“She drove him nuts,” a source revealed, adding there was “non-stop bickering over little things” and Clooney had been “creating distance” for months.

The last time they were seen together as a couple was in February. Canalis had made a trip down to Kentucky for dinner with the actor and his parents.

Elisabetta was also seen at Cannes recently. His excuse for not joining her? His job!

Then in mid-June the two had dinner in Italy and some speculate he may have used that occasion to say goodbye.
