The body of the director George Hickenlooper was found in a Denver hotel room where he was staying. According to The Denver Post, he seems to have died of natural causes.

Hickenlooper was preparing for the premiere of his latest film, “Casino Jack”, with Kevin Spacey and Kelly Preston, that was to take place at the Starz Denver Film Festival.

The mayor of Denver, John Hickenlooper, who is also the director’s cousin, said in a statement: “We are devastated. His passion for life, zeal for people and unquenchable curiosity enriched everyone who had the fortune to know him.”

The festival director Britta Erickson announced on Wednesday that the show “will be dedicated in its entirety to our friend George Hickenlooper.”

In 1991, George Hickenlooper stands out in co-producing “Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker’s Apocalypse”. Two years later, he makes his first feature film called “The Killing Box”. Then came “The Big Brass Ring” (1999), “The Man from Elysian Fields” (2002), and “Bagman” (2009).
Our hearts go out to his wife Suzanne, his son Charles, and all his relatives.
