Is Charlie Sheen depressed?

Has Charlie Sheen had a quiet childhood? What was it that triggered his downfall?

He had quiet periods, often followed by relapses. InRumor is making an inroad in this troubled actor’s life, from childhood until the present moment, in order to try to understand why he keeps reaching the same point: his addiction.

Charlie Sheen became a father at 19 and a movie star at 21. With a famous father, Martin Sheen, and mother Janet Sheen, a former New York art student, Charlie made his film debut at the age of 9, in The Execution of Private Slovik.

In 1977, he followed his parents in the Philippines, where his father played the lead role in the Vietnam war movie Apocalypse Now. At that time, Charlie went through a dramatic moment as Martin suffered a nearly fatal heart attack.

He wasn’t a brilliant student, but was passionate about baseball and acting. He was expelled after being arrested for credit card fraud and possession of marijuana.

On August 3, 1990, in a desperate attempt to control his alcohol and drug addiction, his family send him to rehab. Charlie stayed in rehab for 30 days and announced that he would stay away from drugs and alcohol for 366 days.

“I’d be drinking away, doing blow (cocaine), popping pills and telling myself that I wasn’t an addict, because there wasn’t a needle stuck in my arm!” he remembers.

Unfortunately, his goal of staying away for a year from alcohol and drugs failed as the very next day he began drinking with a friend, walking into another spiral of addiction.

Charlie fought his alcohol and drug addiction hard, until May 1998 when he snapped and was hospitalized for an overdose, which could have been fatal. Once again he entered a treatment program for drug addiction.

“I’d begun drinking all the time. We were shooting in New York City, so I’d be out to the bars every night until 3 or 4 a.m., then I’d try to show up for a 6 o’clock call. How could that work? Yet there I was, the guy that struck gold, looking around at dawn to find the only one still partying was me. I’d be drinking away, doing blow (cocaine), popping pills and telling myself that I wasn’t an addict, because there wasn’t a needle stuck in my arm! Talk about mixing up fantasy and reality! My true addiction was alcohol. I drank, towards the end, two or three bottles of vodka a day. I nearly died, which is about as bad as you can get” the actor recalled in an interview on drugs and alcohol addiction.

In 1990, he accidentally shot his then- fiancée, Kelly Preston, in the arm. Kelly broke the engagement and later married John Travolta.

In 1995 he met his first wife, model Donna Peele, while filming a commercial for cigarettes in Japan but they broke up after six months.

In 2002, Charlie married actress Denise Richards and in March 2004 their first daughter Sam was born. When it looked like things had gotten the right way and Charlie was a good guy again, Denise filed for divorce in March 2005 while in the 6th month of pregnancy, citing “irreconcilable differences”. Charlie’s second daughter, Lola Rose, was born June 2005 and in 2006 their divorce is finalized.

The reason for the divorce, invoked by Denise, was that she feared for her life due to Charlie’s violent fits, but also the fact that, she claimed, Sheen used to visit a number of p#!n sites. Charlie denied the allegations, insisting that was not his true face, and described himself as shy, introverted and mellow.

Charlie met Brooke Mueller at a party in May 2006 and the two were married in 2009. Shortly thereafter Mueller gave birth to twins Max and Bob. But the story repeated itself: Sheen was arrested on Christmas Day, while in Aspen, Colorado. Muller claimed he tried to attack her with a knife. He was arrested and imprisoned on charges of physical assault, threats, damage and domestic violence, according to Aspen police. Sheen remained in prison in Pitkin, Colorado, for several hours and was released on a $ 8,500 bail.

Charlie Sheen was hospitalized again in a rehab clinic, a few days after his wife did the same thing.

On 1 November 2010 Charlie Sheen filed for divorce from Brooke Mueller, ending his third marriage, marked by a conviction for assault against his wife.

Sheen has undergone a psychiatric evaluation after he was found naked and drunk in a hotel room that he completely devastated.

The actor ravaged the hotel room after consuming large quantities of alcohol in the company of prostitutes. He was greatly enraged when he thought he had lost his wallet and mobile phone. Security guards at the Plaza Hotel in New York found him naked and drunk in his room.

In the same hotel there, his former wife, actress Denise Richards, was accommodated along with their two daughters.

The “Two and A Half Men” allegedly told police officers he had used a recreational drug.

Sheen later sued a adult movie actress who claimed she had been threatened and assaulted by the actor, who believed she had stolen one million dollars from him.

This trial was initiated in the Los Angeles Superior Court, a day after Capri Anderson, the woman who claimed she had been threatened by Sheen, gave an interview for the TV show “Good Morning America,” during which she said she intended to sue Charlie.

After they arrived at the hotel, Anderson said the actor sniffed a “white powder” and she began “flirting a little with him.”

Anderson said Sheen caught her by the neck and threw various objects around as he got mad for not finding his wallet. Finally, the adult movie star locked herself in the bathroom and called a friend to come rescue her.

However, in the lawsuit filed by actor, Sheen claims Capri Anderson, whose real name is Christina Walsh, “will defend this lawsuit vigorously and will never pay her a dime. These allegations against Mr. Sheen are completely false, and are a blatant attempt to cash in on his celebrity. ”

A few months later, Charlie Sheen was back in the news again: media reports claimed he spent time in a hotel in Las Vegas in the company of three adult movie stars.

The star and three adult movie actresses were present in Las Vegas in order to attend a convention of adult film producers, first consumed large quantities of alcohol in the bar at The Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, then spent the night together in the actor’s suite.

One of the actresses is American starlet Bree Olson, to whom, according to sources, Charlie Sheen was very attracted to. According to press reports, the actor spent several days in the company of the p#!n stars in his hometown, Fort Wayne Indiana, before taking a plane to Las Vegas together.

The new bender Charlie Sheen was taking part in took place a few days after the actor dismissed the adviser who helped him give up alcohol. Sheen hired this adviser last fall, after the New York hotel incident.

In January 2011 the actor checked into rehab again, causing, for the second time in a year, the filming of the TV series “Two and a Half Men” to go on hiatus.

A day after he was hospitalized for severe abdominal pains, caused by the drug and alcohol abuse, Charlie Sheen “has voluntarily entered an undisclosed rehabilitation center today,” his rep Stan Rosenfield said in a statement. “He is most grateful to all who have expressed their concern. ” The actor’s parents and his former wife, Denise Richards, were at the hospital.

This is the actor’s third admission to a rehab clinic in the last 12 months.

However, although Charlie finally took a rest from his wild behavior rumors continued to swirl. Media reports claimed he was planning to launch a p#!n franchise, whose title would have been “Charlie’s Devils,” according to a adult movie actress.

The actress, whose stage name is Felony, says the TV star had already recorded a pilot episode for the p!#n franchise. She said the idea for a p#!n belonged to Charlie and that she helped him shoot hot scenes so that he could “practice.”

“The ladies love Charlie. He likes to explore his sexuality. He likes fetish, spanking, role play, really kinky stuff,” the actress added.

What do you think are the reasons why Charlie reaches the same point every time, namely drugs, alcohol and sex?

Not all the attributes below match Charlie’s personality, but there are many similarities.

In psychiatry there is a saying: A sex addict is a person who has more than sex than his therapist. Hypersexuality is a serious problem and may even lead to divorce.

Sex addiction occurs in the brain and is considered a mental illness. A person who has a “hypersexual disease” is normally characterized by the following aspects:

- He/She spends a lot of time thinking about sexual fantasies and orgies (former wife Denise said Charlie spent time on p#!n sites)

- He/She usually uses a sexual behavior in order to handle everyday problems such as anxiety, depression or irritability;

- He/She disregards the emotional and physical harm to others involved and tries, but fails to change his/her behavior.

Hypersexuality has existed for hundreds of years, alleges Martin Kafka, a professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. This condition can lead to problems in a relationship or marriage marriage, as is the case of Charlie, who has divorced three times until now.

Charlie has earned the nickname “A Sex Ma-Sheen.” He has spent about $ 50,000 with 27 prostitutes of Heidi Fleiss, a Hollywood matron. Charlie claimed he was cured of this addiction, however he has yet to escape the pleasure of drinking whisky.

The symptoms of a person who undergoes sex addiction therapy are similar to those of any other addiction – nausea, headaches, insomnia, depression, impressive dreaming and uncontrollable crying.

All this demonstrates that sex addicts are given a chemical reaction when they are involved in sexual relationships, just like a drug addict or an alcoholic.

Researchers have found that a one-night adventure releases waves of dopamine in the brain, based on a pleasure-reward system, just like when you’re at the table playing cards. In conclusion, infidelity and alcoholism share the same gene.

If the infidels had their DNA and sexual history studied, it could be noted that they have a variation of the DRD4 gene, which means they are more likely to have a one-night adventure than others that don’t have this disorder.

Many of the issues they face in adult life have their origins in childhood.

The reasons are various: the education they received determines them to have issues of responsibility, or certain traumas stand in the way of natural bonding with the others, or certain disorders not diagnosed in time that disrupt the quality of our activities as adults. One of the disorders that have their onset in childhood and which, if untreated, affects us as adults, is ADHD.

ADHD is one of the most common emotional-behavioral disorders that make their presence felt in early childhood and persists in adolescence and adulthood. If the disease isn’t diagnosed during childhood, it is very difficult to diagnose it on an adult as it is easily confused with depression or anxiety.

Manifestations of an adult diagnosed with ADHD

• He/She finds it hard to concentrate and has low attention even for everyday activities. As an adult he/she also finds it hard to follow an agenda, a program of meetings. There aren’t too many bosses who would appreciate such an employee.

• He/She is impatient and irritable. These features are caused by hyperactivity. Such adults often tell doctors they are in a state of permanent anxiety.

• He/She is impulsive, and this often keeps him/her from keeping a job or managing a budget in a wise and efficient way.

• He/She sometimes engages in activities with high risk, ignoring the dangers. This is why they may be prone to delinquency or abuse of harmful substances, like drugs or alcohol. (Sheen had many problems with alcohol and drugs)

• Sometimes ADHD adults may have low self-esteem due to feeling different from the others or to problems of adaptation to the responsibilities of adult life.

• He/She tends to ignore the rules, orders and even laws. (Charlie devastated a hotel room after he consumed large quantities of alcohol in the company of prostitutes.)

• He/She presents social lack of inhibition and is unstable in relationships. (A p#!n actress told a gossip site that the idea of launching a p#!n franchise belongs to the actor and that she had already helped him shoot some hot scenes in which he “practiced different positions.”)

• He/She engages in multiple activities and approaches them haphazardly, going from one to another without a plan.

• He/She proves to be extremely intrusive and familiar, something that threatens the relationships with those around him/her. They sometimes exaggerate their sociability, as they can’t stand loneliness.

There are also those at the opposite pole who isolate themselves as much as possible and develop depression or apathy.

Definitely, childhood traumas later materialize as personality problems, complexes, phobias.

There are also genetically inherited characteristics, which can give a person a predisposition to certain behaviors, but the family environment is vital in building a child’s psyche.

Charlie’s father, Martin Sheen, was successfully cured of his drug and alcohol addiction, but unlike Charlie, his personal life was not so exposed, as he was married to only one woman.

There are many other examples that show that childhood feelings decisively influence an adult’s thinking and behavior.
