It’s official: Jennifer Aniston will reunite with Courteney Cox on Cougar Town

Jennifer will guest star on Cougar Town for the show’s second season on September 22 on ABC. “She’s going to play Courteney’s shrink named Bonnie,” executive producer Bill Lawrence announced. “Kind of a get-too-involved-in-her-life-type of therapist.”

It seems that the two actresses reunite only 2 times since the Friends ended in 2004. The first time was when Jennifer appeared on Cox’s FX show Dirt in 2007.
“Those guys are so close in real-life they kind of do that for each other anyway,” says Lawrence, adding that the new role was something Cox and Aniston were “both involved in creatively.”

Bill Lawrence revealed that Aniston might continue her presence in Cougar Town show if things go well. “We’re very intentionally implying that it’s a therapist Courteney has been using for a while and we’re certainly not going to make it like they’ll never see each other again,” he says. “So I’m crossing my fingers that if she has a good time it’ll happen again.”
