Jennifer Aniston has decided to take a break from her career to devote herself to her new boyfriend Justin Theroux.
However, the actress has experienced moments of doubt and depression following her breakup with Brad Pitt in 2005.
During an Inside The Actors Studio interview with James Lipton, which was pre-recorded last month, Aniston revealed how she was able to overcome the ordeal.
At the time, the actress was required to make a film on the theme of separation: The Break Up, in which she co-starred Vince Vaughn (the two of them started dating after the film).
“It was just a beautiful story about a couple breaking up, and I was slightly familiar on the topic and the issue,” Jennifer said. “I sort of honestly felt like, what a great way to sort of exorcise some of that.”
“I enjoyed it. It really enjoyed it. You would think otherwise, because even the producers were like, “I don’t know if we should ask you to do this,” but I was like, “why not? Turn the page, let’s move on””.
After finding consolation in the arms of John Mayer and Paul Sculfer, the 42-year-old actress now seems to have found the recipe for happiness. Her boyfriend, Justin Theroux, whom she met in November on the set of the movie Wanderlust, seems to gather all the criteria of the perfect partner.
In the interview, Jennifer also addressed her most famous role: that of Rachel Green from the popular sitcom Friends.
She said: “It’s one of the greatest jobs I ever had. It gave me everything. It gave me this ridiculously blessed life and career and taught me so much, and it’s the best time I ever had.”
James Lipton also inquired about the shooting the last episode and she revealed that it was a very emotional experience: “It was just awful. The last scene, we just wept, cried our eyes out, in front of the whole show.”
“A couple of us stayed really late and we crawled up to the roof of stage 24 and we drank champagne and just watched the sunrise. It was really wonderful.”
Jennifer, who co-starred Courtney Cox in Friends, is a godmother to the latter’s daughter Coco and she also filmed a guest appearance on her show Cougar Town.
Despite rumors of a dispute between the two actresses, Aniston said she “loves” Courtney.
“She’s my best friend and a very talented comedic actress,” she said. “She’s like my brother.”
Jennifer also named another Friends star who she is close to, in a humorous tone: “I adore Matthew Perry. I’m so happy he’s alive.”
