Judge gives Halle Berry the thumbs up
Halle Berry has come out victorious in her custody battle with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry after a judge granted her permission to travel with her daughter.
According to TMZ, the actress was trying to take Nahla with her to New York City to shoot New Year’s Day, the movie from which she withdrew in order to deal with the custody issues. However, Aubry reportedly tried to stop Halle from taking their daughter with her.
After hearing both sides, the judge ruled in Halle’s favor.
Halle’s lawyer, Neal Hersh, told TMZ, “We are pleased the judge took the time to deal with this very imminent and important issue. The judge read a great deal of paperwork and gave us time to argue. Halle is very pleased with the judge’s order.”
Halle had withdrawn from the cast and she was replaced with Katherine Heigl. She will now be playing a different role in the film.
Aubry has withdrawn his custody petition following the ruling, but he’s continuing the battle by filing a paternity action.
