Lindsay Lohan’s busy schedule kept her from returning necklace

Lindsay Lohan said she was too “busy” to return the necklace she has been accused of stealing.

According to a police report obtained by TMZ, Lindsay’s assistant said the troubled actress intended to return the $2,500 necklace, but that she was too “busy” due to her hectic schedule.

The report also maintains Lohan’s assistant attempted to return the necklace to the jewelry store once she heard the police were involved, but no one at the store answered the phone.

However, the officer who wrote the report didn’t seem too impressed by the explanation.

“There was no description of the stolen necklace given to Ms. Lohan, yet she gave the exact necklace in question to her assistant to return,” he wrote.

Lindsay has pleaded guilty to felony grand theft over the incident and friends of the actress insist she was allowed to borrow the necklace.

“I would never steal, in case people are wondering,” Lindsay recently wrote on her Twitter page. “I was not raised to lie, cheat, or steal.”

Lindsay will return to court on February 23.
