Lindsay Lohan gets three-year probation after necklace theft
Lindsay Lohan received a three-year probation following the theft of a necklace that occurred last January in a jewelry store in Venice, California.
Lohan was sentenced on 11 May after pleading no contest to the charges against her.
Lindsay must refrain from visiting the jewelry Kamofie and Company, complete a psychological counseling and a shoplifters alternative class
The actress wasn’t present at the hearing in a Los Angeles court. She was represented by her lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley.
Judge Stephanie Sautner said she didn’t believe that Lohan’s misfortunes were caused by alcohol or drugs. She said the star suffers from deeper problems and uses certain substances to relieve her pain.
Lohan had already been sentenced to 480 hours of community service and 120 days behind bars for probation violation.
The actress will surrender to authorities on June 17 to serve her prison sentence. She asked to be placed under house arrest instead of being confined to a cell. Her request was accepted.
But according to TMZ, during that time, she cannot leave her home, even to do community service.
