Lindsay Lohan plans to sue jewelry store over compromising video
Lindsay Lohan is planning to sue Kamofie & Company jewelry store. She says the company has no right to sell the images captured by a surveillance camera in which she appears, without her consent.
Lohan hasn’t allowed the store to use her image in order to make profits. The company sold the video to the Associated Press for at least $40k and Entertainment Tonight acquired the broadcast rights. This show will enjoy the exclusive rights to air the tape for a week.
According to TMZ, Lohan met her lawyers on Tuesday. It is unclear when she will file the lawsuit.
“We regret to hear there is trepidation by Miss Lohan in connection with the video. We hope that everyone understands that this is beyond our control, the flood of the requests to see this video were simply too overwhelming. It was truly necessary to put it out,” a rep for Kamofie & Co. told TMZ.
In this video, we can see Lindsay shopping for jewelry at Kamofie in Venice, California last January. This short visit to the shop has earned the actress theft charges for a $ 2500 necklace. She will appear in court again Thursday.
These images will be aired by Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday (March 8).
