Lindsay Lohan prosecutor wants to see her behind bars, claims she violated probation

A prosecutor is expected to recommend jail time for the actress after arguing that she is in violation of her probation in a theft case.

Los Angeles City Attorney’s spokesman Frank Mateljan said the recommendation will be made in court Wednesday and it brings into discussion Lohan’s conduct that caused her to get booted from a downtown women’s shelter where she had been doing community service.

Lohan is due to appear in a courtroom to update Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner on her progress.

In April the judge sentenced her to serve 480 hours of community service, most of which had to be served at the Downtown Women’s Center, a shelter and advocacy group for homeless women.

“We feel that her being terminated from it is a violation,” Mateljan said.

“It will up to the judge to make the determination whether or not she feels that Linday is in violation, and if she does, then they would set a probation violation hearing,” he says.

Lohan’s rep, Steve Honig, told E! News: “Lindsay has been going to the Red Cross every day to perform her community service. Additionally, she has been working diligently to fulfill the other requirements of her probation, specifically therapy and completing the shoplifter’s class.”

She’s “plugging away at all three areas,” Honig says of the court orders handed down by Sautner

TMZ reported today that the Probation Department plan to support the actress as they believe she has fulfilled most of her requirements.

Consequently, they don’t plan to recommend that she be thrown in jail.
