Lindsay Lohan released from jail after serving four hours

The actress was released from a county jail in Los Angeles early Monday morning less than five hours after arriving to serve a 30-day sentence.

“All I can tell you is that she was already released,” L.A. Sheriff’s Deputy Tony Moore told People early Monday morning.

Lohan, 25, arrived at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, Calif., on Sunday night at 8:48 pm .

Four hours later, she was already released thanks to prison overcrowding, which prevents the prison from keeping nonviolent offenders sentenced to less than 90 days after serving only a fraction of their sentences, according to representatives of the Sheriff of Los Angeles.

Lindsay is expected to resume her five months of community service, which she must start on Monday.

They include an additional 53 days of janitorial duty at the L.A. morgue and 18 psychotherapy sessions, all by the end of March.

If she fails to meet these requirements, she could face an additional 270-day jail sentence.
