Mel Gibson officially divorced from ex-wife who gets half his money
A judge of the Superior Court of Los Angeles officially pronounced the divorce between the actor and his ex-wife Robyn.
According to People, Robyn, who recovered her maiden name – Robyn Denise Moore – got half the actor’s assets, which are estimated at more than $850 million.
Since there was no prenup, Robyn got half of what he earned during the years they were married.
The couple married in 1980 and had six boys and a girl. After twenty-six years of marriage, Mel Gibson and his wife decided to split shortly after his DUI arrest. Robyn filed for divorce in April 2009 on the basis of “irreconcilable differences.”
Gibson is also the father of a 26-month old girl he had with former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.
People magazine reports that the actor’s estimated fortune include more than $600 million grossed by The Passion of the Christ, over $100 million in real estate investments worldwide and $75 million for film and TV projects for which he was an executive producer.
In addition, Robyn is entitled to half of every check Gibson will receive for the rest of his life.
