The Oscars are a highlight of the year in films and it’s always interesting to see to whom the Academy bestows its highest awards.

There are five talented ladies in the battle for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. Amy Adams makes a sensational role in “The Fighter” as the boxer’s lover, in “The King’s Speech” Helena Bonham Carter, who said she enjoys playing “royal” characters, acts as the Queen Mother alongside Colin Firth, Melissa Leo in “The Fighter” is a severe and imposing mother, like the head of a family, Hailee Steinfeld plays a young 14-year-old Mattie Ross who leave home to track down her father’s murderer in “True Grit”, and Jacki Weaver plays a manipulative mother in “Animal Kingdom”.
