Michael Douglas wins the battle over money against his ex-wife

Sued by his ex-wife, Michael Douglas has just won a new fight: the one against Diandra Douglas who was seeking half of his paycheck from his last film „Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps”. The judge said no!

Actor Michael Douglas can rejoice, and sleep soundly because justice has decided to rule in his favor in a dispute with his ex-wife, Diandra Douglas. Michael and Diandra were married from 1977 to 2000 and have a son, Cameron, together.

At the time of their divorce, the couple had signed a contract stating that Michael had to share all the income from films made during their marriage with Diandra. Now she argues that since “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” is the sequel to the first “Wall Street” movie, she is entitled to half of the actor’s paycheck.

But a Manhattan judge has dismissed her complaint without giving any justification.

Relieved, Michael Douglas said he was “very excited” about the decision. His lawyer Marilyn Chinitz said, “This case should never have been brought in the first instance and certainly not in New York.”

New York was the wrong place for the case to be heard since the couple’s divorce was finalized in California.
