Fair or brown skin? Long red hair or short dark? A beautiful smile or a pair of sexy legs? Australia or America? Milk or chocolate? Nicole Kidman or Halle Berry?

Halle Berry is exotic and beautiful her beauty is rare to find these days, you forgot to mention that Nicole Kidman came from a well to do background her father is a doctor so her pathway to success would have been easier “less battles to fight” and better circumstances.
Halle Berry is also an inspiration to musicians whereby songs have been written about her ie Hurricane Chris and she also does a lot of work for Domestic Victims “Which counts for a Lot”.
Kidman did not come from a “well to do” background, her father is a teacher and psychologist at a public school, from a country that doesn’t pay professors high salaries. Her fmaily is educated, not rich.
Kidman was also a foreigner at a time when Hollywood wouldn’t accept actors with foreign accents. She arrived in America, a country she had never visited alone at age 20.
Kidman hasalso been the inspiration of several top hit songs, from Kravits to the No. 1 chart topping duet she sang with Robby Williams, now she is the inspiration an Grammy winning song songs by Urban, and a new album. As well as singing mnay songs on the Moulin Rouge soundtrack, a smahin sucess, she dances like a professional.
Kidman also handled her divorce and monstrous custody battles against the cult of Scientology with absolute discretion, no publicity, and not one comment against her ex….ever
Berry could learn how to behave from such an example.
I find this contest to be ridiculous. Both are beautiful women and shouldn’t be pitted against each other as vanilla vs chocolate.
There’s a lot of false information here for the record. Sydney Pollack considered Nicole, Charlize Theron and Naomi for the role in The Interpreter. Nicole got it because he found her to be the most believable as an “international” character.
Nicole coming from an affluent background doesn’t giver her any edge in becoming a star. Sorry. But I’m sure it’s her fault she was born into a white educated family. That no more makes her more worthy of success than it does for Halle to have been an underprivileged kid with a single mom in Ohio. Maybe Nicole’s mother having cancer or her uncle suffering from mental illness should be a reason to giver her a vote. Her father, by the way is a psychologist and a PHd, not an MD.
Both these women fight for abuse victims, and have done charity work for years. Both have dated and inspired musicians. Nicole’s married to one. Again, this contest is beyond ridiculous.
I very much agree with you Tsuchida ,and that the contest is ridiculous.
I think nicole is most beautiful woman in the world
This is SO WRONG!!! This kind of this is what is wrong with our society TODAY!!! Stop this mess! Both are beautiful in their on different and special way! I’m so sick of mess like this destroying the self-esteem of those on the opposing side! Geez!
This statement made above: “Nicole coming from an affluent background doesn’t giver her any edge in becoming a star” is bullocks.
It’s a sociological fact that those of affluent backgrounds have a greater chance than those of lower socio-economic backgrounds to have successful carears.
Yet, amazingly almost every famous actress since the silent ere came from a background of poverty.
Again, the Kidman’s were not affluent, they were teachers in a socialist country where education salaries are low.
The statement “the Kidman’s were not affluent, they were teachers in a socialist country where education salaries are low” is a not factual…complete Bullocks.
“Nicole Kidman is the daughter of Janelle Ann MacNeille Kidman and Dr. Anthony David Kidman. Her father is a biochemist, clinical psychologist and author, with an office in Lane Cove, Sydney. He was also involved with the labour movement . Janelle Kidman is a nursing instructor and edits her husband’s books.”
I could hardly a call a “Biochemist clinical psychologist and author” being a teacher.
Its a sociological fact that a child brought up in a home of a single parent such as Halle Berry there have more Life Challanges than a child brought up in the home where both parents had good jobs whereby the father is a Clinical Psychologist and mother is a nursing instructor such as Nicole Kidman.
No one is disputing that Nicole Kidman has talent she’s a brilliant actress, however lets keep things in perspective and be factual.
i think you’re exaggerating. i don’t think this poll is about pitting one against the other but about choosing your favorite actress and why. personally i prefer nicole because she’s got an amazing acting talent and she seems to be a good mother to her kids. that doesn’t necessarily mean i hate halle, on the contrary i admire her acting skills too. i just think that nicole is a bit more talented, that’s all
Facts are based on The Truth and not Exaggerations.
Simply put, take both these two beautiful talented women who have achieved much success through hard work and determination..The probability of Halle Berry having to face more life challenges and fight more battles to get where she is today, is much higher than the life challenges that Nicole Kidman has had to experience. This is merely a perspective that i wish to make note of not to disrespect Nicole Kidman.
If this fact is not obviouse, maybe one has very little knowledge of how things work in this world.
i believe i stated my point clearly. i wasn’t denying the facts presented here. i actually admire everyone’s passion and appreciation for these two actresses as they are obvious. my reply was mainly directed at people criticizing this poll and missing the bigger picture: that each should be appreciated for her uniqueness and not pitted against each other. i don’t think this is about x is better than y because…it should rather be about i like this actress for these reasons…
Nicole Kidman definitely had an advantage that Halle nor any other women of color had and that is her white skin. You reallly can’t compare the two women because Kidman is talented however had she been born black in America she would not have been given the many opportunities she might have come to take for granted. What is interesting is that white foreign born actresses (with accents) can come to America and get recognition for their talent
but women of color are left out.
