Reese Witherspoon on her husband: “He’s wonderful!”
Reese Witherspoon, married since March 26 to Jim Toth, is a fulfilled woman.
In an interview for the May issue of Vogue magazine, the 35-year-old actress, who is currently in full promotion of her film Water for Elephants, spoke about the man she loves.
“He’s wonderful. He’s just a really great guy, and I feel really lucky,” she says.
But Reese isn’t the only one who is charmed by the Hollywood agent. Recently, she was congratulated on her new hubby by some unexpected supporters of Toth.
“Over the holidays I was at a department store in L.A. with my friends, and these three women from Oklahoma came up to me, and they said ‘Reese. We are so happy for yeeew. We liiike this guy for yew,’ ” the Louisiana-born actress tells the mag.
“And I said, ‘You do?!’ ‘Yes, ma’am. We think he is a niiice man. We think he is going to treat you well and be good to yeeew.’ I was like, ‘Really?’ So sweet! And I told them my mother likes him very much, too.”
Witherspoon also talked about her children Ava, 11, and Deacon, 7, born of her marriage to actor Ryan Phillippe, and recounted how her daughter is going through her pre-teenage period: “She’s on the precipice of having her love affairs and her life. She is curious and artistic and very smart. She really surprises me.”
Concerning the status of a parent in general, she said he has been surprised several times. “I thought you make little people in your image. But they are just nothing like me or their father. They are their own individuals.”
“I know it’s corny, but being a parent to me is such a great privilege; that I get to chaperone these beautiful little souls through life. They astound me with their knowledge and their humor,” she adds.
