Yesterday we learned that Ryan Phillippe might get to know the joys of fatherhood again.

The news were made public by the mother of the baby, actress Alexis Knapp, a former girlfriend of the actor.

Today, the actor said he agrees to take a DNA test to confirm if the child is his or not. However, it will be done after the baby is born, to avoid any risk of miscarriage.

Sources say Ryan plans to assume his role as father and provide for Alexis if the result is positive, reports TMZ.

The baby is due in June.
