Shia LaBeouf has revealed that he will quit the role that made him famous, that of Sam Witwicky, which he played in three films in the “Transformers” franchise.

Shia LaBeouf, a former child prodigy in Hollywood, built up his fame after he appeared in “Transformers – Their War Our World,” the first film from the franchise, in 2007.

After his role in “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” from 2009, the 24-year-old actor is getting ready to promote the third film in the series,”Transformers: Dark of the Moon” which will premiere in theaters on June 29.

LaBeouf said this was the last time he played Sam Witwicky.

“I’m not coming back to do another one. I don’t think [director Michael Bay] will either,” Shia told MTV News.

The actor is convinced that the studios will continue this successful franchise with another actor in the lead role.

“It’s still a hot property, I think, especially coming out of the third one. So I imagine they’ll reboot it at some point with someone else,” he explained.

Actress Megan Fox has left the franchise after the second film in the series and was replaced by British model Rose Huntington-Whiteley in the third film.

The movie “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” will have its world premiere on 29 June. The first two films of the franchise have grossed over $ 1.5 billion worldwide.
