Tom Cruise tweets first photo of himself from Rock of Ages musical

Currently filming the musical Rock of Ages, Tom Cruise tweeted a first official photo.

Rock of Ages, the story of love between a young girl from the Midwest, settling in Los Angeles to become an actress, and a rocker, features a star-studded cast: Mary J. Blige, Malin Akerman, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti, Julianne Hough, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Bryan Cranston, Diego Boneta and Tom Cruise, playing Stacee Jaxx, a decadent rocker.

This is the first photo of the actor in the role tweeted by the star himslef. Here he shots a scene where he sings “Pour Some Sugar on Me” by Def Leppard.

“He can sing!” director Adam Shankman assures. “It’s a miracle!”

Long hair fitted for an 80′s star, tattoos and tight denim jeans are Cruise’s outfit for the new movie.

For the repertoire of Rock of Ages, Cruise sings rock hits like “Wanted Dead or Alive” by Bon Jovi and “Rock You Like a Hurricane” by Scorpions.

The film is scheduled for 1 June 2012 in the USA.
