The Californian Alyssa Campanella was crowned Miss USA 2011 in Las Vegas Sunday.
The 21-year-old was able to answer a difficult question successfully.
At the ceremony, Campanella was asked if marijuana should be legalized. She said that the marijuana used for medical purposes should be legal. However, it should be banned for recreational purposes.
Campanella will participate in the Miss Universe Pageant in September. If ever she won’t be able to perform her duties, she will be replaced by Miss Tennessee Ashley Elizabeth Durham, who came in second place. Campanella succeeds Rima Fakih.
