Carla Bruni-Sarkozy and her daughter left for home from the Clinique de la Muette in Paris on Sunday, where the wife of the Head of State had given birth.
The French First Lady, who gave birth Wednesday to small Giulia, was seen leaving shortly after 2:00 p.m. with her baby in her arms, wrapped in a blanket, and was helped into a car by two minders.
French president Nicolas Sarkozy, who was Sunday in Brussels for an EU summit, had visited his wife and baby three times on Saturday.
Bruni announced the baby’s name on her official website last week.
Giulia, who was born Wednesday, October 19, has become the first baby born to a sitting French president.
She joins four siblings as Sarkozy has three children from his two previous marriages, while Bruni has a son from a former relationship.
