From Park Hyatt in Tokyo, where Bill Murray meets Scarlett Johansson in an elevator in “Lost in Translation,” to Cipriani, where the Venetian scenes in “Casino Royale” were shot, there are many movies where – in a more or less obvious way – hotels play a major role.

An Italian tourist site (Trivago.it) identified 10 hotels based on users’ preferences: their favorite was Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo, where “Iron Man 2″ was filmed.

Here are the top 10 hotels which have appeared in various films:

1. Hôtel de Paris, Monte-Carlo (Iron Man 2, 2010)

2. Hotel Cipriani (Casino Royale, 2006)

3. Hotel Park Hyatt (Lost in translation, 2003)

4. Le Grand Hotel Cabourg (Coco avant Chanel, 2009)

5. Hotel Giraffe, New York (“Sex and the city”, 2008)

6. Budapest Marriott Hotel (“Munich”, 2005)

7. Hotel 71, Chicago (“The Dark Knight”, 2008)

8. Hotel de la Reconquista, Oviedo (“Vicky, Christina, Barcelona”, 2008)

9. Borgo Scopeto Relais (Letters to Juliet, 2010)

10. Hôtel Regina (The Bourne Identity, 2002)
