British actor Hugh Laurie, lead actor of the TV series Dr House, is the newest face of L’Oreal Paris cosmetics, the company announced Tuesday in a statement.

Hugh Laurie joined other spokesmodels for L’Oreal Paris, such as actors Gerard Butler and Patrick Dempsey.

Via Twitter and Facebook, L’Oreal announced that Hugh Laurie has signed a contract to represent the brand in launching a new skincare line for Men Expert.

L’Oreal Paris’ global brand president, Cyril Chapuy described Laurie as “the perfect example of a modern man: genuine, uninhibited, strong and willing to pursue his passions to the end.”

After posting a part of the ad on the net, L’Oréal was quick to reveal the new range represented by Hugh Laurie.

The brand has chosen Hugh Laurie not only for his popularity, but also because it aims to give the campaign a sense of humor. In the ad, Hugh Laurie says: “My name is Gerard Butler and this is how I look before I’ve applied L’Oreal skin care for men.”
