Kate Middleton: the Queen disapproves of her covering Vogue magazine

Rumor has it the Duchess of Cambridge got an offer to pose for the cover of Vogue magazine.

But that might be just a dream for many as it seems the Queen isn’t very happy about the idea.

According to E! Online, Kate was recently in negotiations with Vogue and Anna Wintour, but the young woman finally refused.

“Kate is keenly conscious that her new grandmother-in-law may not chide her for appearing on a Vogue cover,” a Palace source told E!

“But she would definitely not be amused, and Her Majesty is a real genius at making people squirm with simply a look or a “tut, tut.””

Reports say Wintour contacted photographer Mario Testino, who took the official engagements portraits of the royal couple.

An insider told the New York Post: “Every magazine has been trying to get Kate, and many assume it will eventually be Vogue. But even with the Mario Testino relationship, it is not clear when this will happen. The Palace must approve it, and they are very protective of Kate.”

But it seems not only the Queen finds the idea inappropriate, since even the new royal couple isn’t very excited about it.

“But both William and Kate feel it would be wrong for Kate to promote herself as a fashion or style icon,” the palace source said. “That’s not what they are about and they take their royal duties far too seriously to, in one sense, trivialize them.”
