Kim Kardashian grilled by Barbara Walters on lack of talent
Interviewed on the set of the 20/20 show by Barbara Walters, the Kardashian sisters had to deal the veteran journalist’s straightforward questions.
Walters’ 10 Most Fascinating People of 2011 special included the Kardashians landing on number 8, something for which the TV host was criticized.
However, a sit-down with the famous reality TV family showed that it wasn’t out of admiration that she included the Kardashian clan on her list.
“You don’t act, you don’t sing, you don’t dance. You don’t have any, forgive me, any talent,” Barbara remarked.
“But we’re still entertaining people,” Khloe replied.
“It’s more of a challenge to go on a reality show and get people to fall in love with you for being you, so there is definitely a lot more pressure, I think, to be famous for being ourselves, than to play a character,” Kim explained.
Walters also questioned Kim on her infamous 2007 sex tape with R&B singer Ray J and asked her if she believed the sex tape was a “good thing to have done?”
“Whatever you do, you might think,” Kim replied, looking as if she was hesitating.
“I have made mistakes in my life, for sure,” she admitted as her mother and manager Kris jumped to her defense, saying, “You learned a lot from that.”
“How did you feel?” Walters asked Kris who described the experience as “devastating” for the family.
“You cry yourself to sleep for a few nights, then you hire a really good attorney and try to make something better — or, you know, happen.”
The interview didn’t address Kim’s divorce from Kris Humphries as it was recorded back in September, a month before her Halloween filing.
