Lauren Bush and David Lauren: photos of their wedding

The couple married on September 4 at the 17,000-acre Double RL ranch owned by David’s father in Ridgway, Colorado.

In true Western tradition, the bride arrived in an open-air horse drawn carriage and the ceremony was attended by 200 guests wearing in cowboy boots and jeans.

The latest edition of Vogue magazine features several photos taken during their Labor Day weekend wedding and shows the bride, who now goes by Lauren Bush Lauren, wearing a magnificent Victorian style dress, designed by her father-in-law.

The gown had long sleeves and it was made of tulle, lace and crystals, a look completed with a headpiece and a long veil. 100 craftspeople and 3,000 hours were needed to fix the pearls and embroider the small flower motifs.

David, 39, wore a three piece suit complete with chain watch, in keeping with the old-fashioned theme of the event.

He described the ceremony as “a beautiful movie…like you were riding across the old west and you stopped in at a wedding.”

Lauren revealed that she and her famed father-in-law designer had “casual conversations at family meals and holiday weekends” before meeting two months before the wedding in the designer’s studio.

“I walked in [to Ralph Lauren's studio], and there were these beautiful illustrations of the looks we’d discussed with my face on them,” she recounted.

“It was like a dream come true. We sat together and arrived at this silhouette. It isn’t Victorian exactly. I wanted something modern as well, so there is the high-necked collar and puffed shoulders with the large open back.”

Ivanka Trump and Prince Dimitri of Yugoslavia were among the guests, who also included former President Bush and his wife Laura, as well as the couple’s twin girls Barbara and Jenna.

“It was very romantic,” an onlooker said. “The couple looked so genuinely happy.”
