According to a leaked internal memo from a Japanese retailer, Nintendo’s next console is rumored to be launched on November 18 in the US.
The information comes from the WiiUDaily website, who described it as an “email circulated among staff at a game store in Japan, the Akihabara-based Media Land, one of the most popular video game shops in Tokyo”.
The email reportedly states that Sunday, November 18, is the release date for Nintendo’s Wii U, with the Japanese launch to follow a week a later. No info on a European launch is mentioned.
Back in January, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said that Wii U will be available in the US, Japan and Europe by the end of 2012.
Nintendo is believed to be planning the launch ahead of December, in order to boost sales in the holiday season.
According to analysts’ speculation, the Wii U is expected to be around 50% more powerful than the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
The new system is also rumored to feature a Quad Core, 3 GHz PowerPC-based 45nm CPU, 768 MB of DRAM.
