Playboy hits the stands with Crystal Harris as Mrs. Hefner on the cover

Everybody was taken by surprise on Tuesday to find out that Crystal Harris, 25, had called off her wedding to Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, 85, just days before the event.

Today Crystal opened up about her decision on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show.

“I called it off because I didn’t think it was the right thing for me to do… For a while I’ve been having second thoughts about everything. I haven’t really been at peace with myself lately. I didn’t think it was really fair to him,” Harris said.

“It was mutual between Hef and I, there was no fight, we sat down and we talked about it,” the model added.

Crystal explained her reasons for the abrupt decision: “For a while I’ve been having second thoughts about everything. I haven’t really been at peace with myself lately. I didn’t think it was really fair to him… They were gonna air a show on it. It was al happening too fast for me.”

“He understood,” she continued. “We both agreed that it wasn’t the best idea to get married… I just feel that I owed it to Hef and everyone there to do the right thing and move on… this isn’t the lifestyle for me, multiple girls all around – it’s not the lifestyle I wanted.”

On Tuesday, Hefenr took to Twitter to express his state of mind: “The breakup is a heartbreaker, but better now than after the marriage,” he wrote. “Since we’re not getting married on Saturday, I’ve scheduled a movie: Runaway Bride. Seems appropriate.”
