Prince William met Kate in 2001, when they studied together at the prestigious St. Andrews University in Scotland. The true love story however began in 2002, a year after the two lived in the same location with other students.

In December 2003, the two lovebirds were photographed together during a ski holiday.

Their relationship was formalized as Kate and her parents attended William’s graduation ceremony at the Sandhurst military academy.

However, in April 2007 the couple went through a split under pressure from the media. A few months later, they were seen together again.

The marriage proposal took place on a trip in Kenya in October. William had finished his training as a rescue helicopter pilot by then and said, “We just decided that it was the right time.” As tradition dictates, the Prince also asked Kate’s father for her hand in marriage.

It all started in 2000, at the International Meeting in Monaco where Charlene Wittstock won the gold medal in the 200 meter backstroke. Prince Albert met his Princess as he gave her the medal.

For several years the relationship between the prince and the beautiful athlete was a professional one.

However, in 2005, Charlene contacted him following the death of his father, Prince Rainier III. That seems to be the moment they became close. A year later, Charlene and Albert appear in public for the first time, on the occasion of the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Turin.

Finally, on June 23, 2010, 11 years after their first meeting, Prince Albert II of Monaco and Charlene Wittstock announced their engagement.

Since they formalized their relationship in 2006, Charlene Wittstock frequently appeared alongside Prince Albert on various occasions. The couple is said to share the love for sports, as well as the same musical tastes.
