Seal and Heidi Klum separate after seven years of marriage
It seems that the fairy tale is over for Seal and Heidi Klum. The German supermodel and the British singer have confirmed their separation Monday.
The famous couple announced Sunday night that they are separating after seven years of marriage.
“While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate,” the former couple said in a joint statement to People.
“We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition.”
“We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children’s sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy.”
According to TMZ, Klum, 38, wanted a divorce because she had enough of Seal’s “inability to control his temper” and the effect this was having on their children.
In addition, reports also alleged she was fed up with her 48-year-old husband’s ‘hard partying.’
The decision to separate has not been taken on a whim but was instead the result of long reflection.
“It was a long time in coming,” a source said.
The pair are parents to Leni, 7, Henry, 6, Johan, 5 and Lou, 2.
