TLC cancels Kate Plus 8, Kate Gosselin has no regrets
The TV channel announced Monday that they are canceling the reality show.
The show chronicled Kate Gosselin’s highly publicized separation from her ex-husband Jon Gosselin as they continued to raise their eight children.
The network said in a statement: “TLC has decided not to renew another season of Kate Plus 8. By the end of this season Kate Plus 8 will have hit the 150 episode mark (including Jon & Kate Plus 8); an exceptional milestone. TLC hopes to check in with Kate and the family periodically with specials in the future.”
However, Kate, 36, seems unaffected by the cancellation as she told People that she is “glad to be divorced and on my own.”
“I wouldn’t change my marriage because I have eight awesome kids that I would not change. But people change and they’re not who you thought they were and if they’re not for you, move on. And I have.”
“I don’t care if his girlfriends change weekly, yearly, monthly,” she continues. “I don’t give it a second thought … more power to him.”
“Unless I have to deal with him with the kids, I don’t [deal with him], which is good because it keeps the peace,” she says. “I’ve always emailed, called or texted, whatever – just about the kids, the best for the kids.”
