Vanessa Hudgens: short hair vs. long hair

Vanessa Hudgens has always been a girly presence with her beautiful long curly brown hair. She is also the new face of Candie’s.

But recently the 22-year-old actress surprised fans with a drastic change of look.

At first, everyone thought that Vanessa Hudgens had used a short wig to embody the pregnant teenager in her latest film Gimme Shelter. In the movie, she plays a girl whisked away by her father when he learns she is pregnant. A difficult role that asked for a complete change of appearance: tomboy clothes, piercing and especially short cut hair.

To embody the character, she cut her beautiful brown locks herself.

But rest assured because Vanessa is keeping her Lolita-look for the red carpet as we can see from these pics at the premiere of Captain America: The First Avenger on July 19 in Hollywood.

Vanessa Hudgens was superb in her embroidered beige tunic. Even with her new hairstyle she looks glamorous.

Just two months ago, Hudgens wore her long hair down in soft curls cascading down her shoulders at the premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in California.
