World’s most expensive Christmas tree costs $ 11 million
Instead of the bells, tinsel and other ornaments, the most expensive Christmas tree in the world, found in the Emirates Palace hotel in Abu Dhabi, is decorated with diamonds, jewelry, emeralds, sapphires and other precious stones and it costs over $ 11 million.

It is “the most expensive Christmas tree ever,” said Hans Olbertz, general manager of Emirates Palace hotel, at the moment of the tree’s inauguration. The seven-star hotel has had Christmas trees in previous years, but this year “we said we have to do something different”, AFP news agency quoted Olbertz as saying.
The Christmas tree, which will remain in the lobby until the end of the year, is 13 meters high and it’s decorated with gold and silver, ball-shaped ornaments and white lights. In addition, there are necklaces, earrings and other jewelry on the tree branches. “It holds a total of 181 diamonds, pearls, emeralds, sapphires and other precious stones,” says Khalifa Khouri, owner of Style Gallery, the store that provided the jewelry.
