Eric Dane, who plays the role of dr. Mark Sloan in Grey’s Anatomy, has recently been admitted to a rehab clinic in Los Angeles. The actor is fighting an addiction to painkillers.
His spokesperson confirmed: “Actor Eric Dane voluntarily checked himself into a treatment facility to help him get off of pain medication that he was prescribed for a sports injury that he suffered over the recent hiatus.”
“He reports back to work next week. Business as usual,” reports Star magazine.
A source close to Eric said that the actor took the decision mostly because his wife expecting a second child and he wants to be totally clean for the arrival of the baby.
“Eric felt things spiralling out of control and decided he needed to get some help,” the insider said.
Dane and wife Rebecca Gayheart have been married since 2004. Their daughter Billie was born March 3, 2010.
