This is not a rumor, Dallas legend Larry Hagman has passed away.

Actor Larry Hagman, who played J.R. Ewing on “Dallas,” has died at age 81.

“Larry was back in his beloved Dallas re-enacting the iconic role he loved most,” his family said in a statement to the Dallas Morning News.

“Larry’s family and close friends had joined him in Dallas for the Thanksgiving holiday. When he passed, he was surrounded by loved ones. It was a peaceful passing, just as he had wished for. The family requests privacy at this time.”

The actor died at a Dallas hospital on Friday after complications with his battle with throat cancer.

Hagman was in the middle of filming a reboot of the “Dallas” series on TNT when he passed away.

He was surrounded by friends and family, including fellow actors Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy, who played J.R.’s wife, Sue Ellen, and brother, Bobby, in the show.

“They had been friends for 35 years, and they had worked together for many years, so obviously it is devastating,” Gray’s agent, Jeffrey Lane, told The Sun.

Hagman is survived by his wife, Maj, a daughter, Kristina, a son, Preston, and five granddaughters.
