Singer Nick Lachey and his girlfriend, Vanessa Minnillo, have decided to take a new step in their relationship by becoming engaged, reports People.
“We’re excited and incredibly happy about our engagement and we look forward to a wonderful future together,” the couple said in a statement.
“We are very pleased to be engaged. We anticipate a better future “, said the couple said in a statement.
Lachey, 36, popped the question to Minnillo, 29, on Thursday, near a beach in California, a source told People. He offered her a luxurious diamond ring.
“They’re so happy, doing great. Thrilled about it,” a source close to the couple also tells UsMagazine.
Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo began dating in 2006 after the singer had divorced from his first wife, singer Jessica Simpson.
Minnillo and Lachey had broken briefly in 2009 and then reconciled.
