The actress, who plays Charlotte York in the series, has become a mother for the first time.
The 46-year-old, who is currently single, has named her daughter Gemma Rose Davis.
Davis became the legal guardian of the little girl two months ago through domestic adoption.
“This is something I have wanted for a very long time,” Davis told People. “Having this wish come true is even more gratifying than I ever had imagined. I feel so blessed.”
Many believe that her role as an adoptive mother in Sex and the City gave her the desire to imitate the event in real life. In the series final in 2004, Charlotte adopts a baby girl from China, Lily, with her husband Harry.
Kristin will soon appear in the film Journey 2: The Mysterious Island which is scheduled to arrive on screens in February 2012. She is also busy with her role as and an ambassador for Oxfam, an organization dedicated to cooperation and international solidarity.
