The first lady of France, Carla Bruni, and the group Duran Duran are among the artists who have recorded covers of songs of the famous British singer David Bowie, included on a compilation that would be release for charitable purposes.
The new disc is titled “We Were So Turned On: A Tribute To David Bowie” and will be produced by War Child foundation that helps children from areas devastated by war.
Among other artists invited to perform on this album are included Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, A Place to Bury Strangers and Caroline Weeks.
Carla Bruni has made a cover after the song “Absolute Beginners” and Duran Duran recorded a cover of the song “Boys Keep Swinging.”
British media believes that the biggest attraction of this album is the version of the song “Ashes To Ashes”, performed by guitarist Mick Karn, the bassist of the rock band Japan, recently diagnosed with terminal cancer.
