Caylee Anthony was murdered, coroner says

The coroner who testified at the Casey Anthony trial revealed that the 2-year-old had been murdered.

Dr. Jan Garavaglia, the Orange County chief medical examiner, testified in court on Friday.

In response to defense’s argument that Caylee had died of an accidental drowning, Garavaglia said that there’s “no other logical conclusion” except homicide.

She based her conclusion on the condition of Caylee’s remains, as well as the presence of duct tape around her skull.

As defense attorney Cheney Mason tried to counterattack her arguments, the coroner responded in a rising voice: “Accidental deaths are reported unless there is a reason for it not to be… 100 percent of the time… that’s systematic observational studies,” adding, “No child should have duct tape on its mouth when it dies.”
