Chelsea Clinton has become a fulltime journalist correspondent for NBC News, announced representatives of the NBC station, on Monday.

Bill Clinton’s daughter will present the news starting Monday morning, said Steve Capus, president of NBC News, and will begin work on a series of stories that the network intends to use as part of its “Making a Difference” series, broadcast on the program “NBC Nightly News,” The New York Times reports.

This series, which has become very popular on NBC, presents portraits of people who are involved in various voluntary activities, in order to improve the lives of other members of their communities.

“I hope telling stories though ‘Making a Difference’ – as in my academic work and nonprofit work – with help me to live my grandmother’s adage of ‘Life is not about what happens to you, but about what you do with what happens to you,’ ” Clinton said in a statement.

Clinton said on her Facebook page that she will donate the majority of her earnings to the George Washington Hospital and the Clinton Foundation in honor of her grandmother.

“What inspires me most are people who imagine and implement solutions to challenges in their own lives, in their communities, in our country and around the world,” Clinton said. “I am excited to work with NBC News to continue to highlight stories of organizations and individuals who make their communities and our world healthier, more just and more humane.”
