Egypt: Lara Logan, CBS reporter was sexually assaulted
A CBS reporter was sexually assaulted on February 11, after Hosni Mubarak announced his resignation.
Lara Logan, a foreign correspondent for CBS, was the victim of a sexual assault on Tahrir square in Egypt, while she covered the fall of the Egyptian leader.
Logan “suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers,” CBS announced.
“[Logan] reconnected with the CBS team, returned to her hotel and returned to the United States on the first flight the next morning. She is currently in the hospital recovering,” according to CBS.
CBS said that the journalist, aged 39, took the first flight to the United States the next day. She is currently recovering in hospital.
