Jesse James and Kat Von D call off their engagement

Less than a year after the scandal of his many infidelities when he was married to Sandra Bullock, James became engaged to Von D.

Kat Von D, 29, lives in Los Angeles, where she recorded the show LA Ink, while Jesse James, 41, lives in Austin, Texas, with his three children, Chandler, 16, Jesse Jr., 14, and Sunny, 7.

“I’m so sad because I really love her,” he told People. “The distance between us was just too much.”

They were together for less than a year and Kat confirmed the separation on Twitter last night.

“I am no longer w Jesse,” she wrote, “and out of respect for him, his family and myself, thats all the info I’d like to share. Thanks for respecting that.”

As they were living a passionate romance, the two scheduled a reality show about their life together and started talking about marriage. They intended to say “yes” a year after they met, this summer.
