2011 MTV Video Music Awards nominations revealed

The nominees for the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards have been announced.

The music channel has just released the list of nominations for the MTV Video Music Award in 2011.

This 28th edition will be will take place on August 28, 2011 and the artist who gathered the most nominations is Katy Perry, for Best Pop Video and Best Video of the Year with the tune Firework.

She is followed by British singer Adele and rapper Kanye West who have seven nominations each.

Adele has a chance to win with her hit Rolling In The Deep from the album 21. She is competing in the categories for Video of the Year, Best Video by a Female Artist and Best Pop Video.

Kanye West competes with All of the Lights and Power. He is named for Best Hip-Hop Video and Best Video by a Male Artist.

Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj are next with three nominations each.

Britney Spears, Beastie Boys, Chris Brown, 30 Seconds to Mars and Pitbull are among the artists or groups nominated twice.

Fans can vote for their favorite clips on the MTV website until August 28.
