Amy Winehouse album to be released
Amy Winehouse’ album, which contains songs composed by the singer shortly before her death, will be launched in December.
The singer’s father, Mitch Winehouse was impressed by his daughter’s songs, which she recorded before her death in July, and said he wanted her fans to have the opportunity to listen to the new album.
“It wasn’t until I sat down with the rest of the family and listened to this album that I fully appreciated the breadth of Amy’s talent,” Mitch Winehouse said in a statement, according to The Sun.
“From jazz standards to hip-hop songs, it really took my breath away. I never realized what a true genius she was.”
The new album will be launched in stores on December 5 and it will contain songs written by the British artist in the period when she was struggling with her drug addiction, according to The Sun, but also recent tracks, in which the singer describes her relationship with former husband Blake Fielder-Civil.
