Amy Winehouses father Mitch plans to publish memoir about his daughter in 2012
Publisher HarperCollins announced Monday that Mitch Winehouse, the late singer’s father, will publish a biography of his daughter.
The publisher described the book as a “heartfelt and revelatory memoir.”
Mitch says he wants to write about Amy’s life, starting from her childhood and leading up to the addictions problems she had through her singing career.
Mitch took to Twitter on Tuesday to announce that the book won’t be released until July next year.
He also gave his reasons for writing the autobiography: “I also need to write the book as a part of my recovery. For those people that don’t like it. Tough! Mitch.”
Profits from sales of the book will be donated to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which was set up by Mitch and helps young people with addictions.
“The plan is to help all children – not just rehabilitation, not just substance abuse. It’s to help all children in need,” Winehouse’s father said back in August.
