Demi Lovato’s rep denies recent rehab rumors
The singer’s rep has denied reports stating that the star was back in treatment.
Last week, Demi wrote on Twitter, “Away on a mind and body cleansing retreat!! This is exciting. Won’t be tweeting much this week but I love you my sweet lovatics!”
In addition, the 19-year-old missed the Grammy ceremony. Her absence, coupled with the cryptic tweets, sparked speculation that she night have checked herself into rehab again.
“She’s not in rehab,” her publicist told MTV News. “She was not supposed to present at the Grammys.”
Also, a source explained, “Demi had a week off between work commitments and made the personal decision to spend the week with the professional support team she assembled to help her with her ongoing physical and emotional issues.”
“The trip was previously planned. Demi’s recovery is an ongoing battle. She understands that there will be ups and downs, but is fully committed to working with her team every single day towards a healthy future,” the insider added.
The former Disney star went to rehab in 2010 to be treated for “emotional and physical issues”.
