The pretty brunette, who left rehab three months ago, is making revelations about the causes of her malaise.
No wonder Demi Lovato has supported Catherine Zeta-Jones last week after she revealed she had suffered from a mental illness, bipolar disorder, which takes the person alternately through states of great excitement and depression.
The 18-year-old star who had tweeted, “I don’t know Catherine Zeta-Jones personally but what she has decided to do it SO brave. And SO difficult but worth it… I’m proud of her,” comes to reveal why she was so touched by Michael Douglas’ wife: Demi is bipolar too.
“I never found out until I went into treatment that I was bipolar. Looking back it makes sense. There were times when I was so manic, I was writing seven songs in one night and I’d be up until 5:30 in the morning,” Lovato told People magazine.
“I feel like I am in control now where my whole life I wasn’t in control,” she adds.
Demi, who recently revealed that she was bullied by her classmates when she was younger because of her weight and that she had been suffering from eating disorders since she was 8, seems to need to put an end to this once and for all in order to move forward.
“What’s important for me now,” she says, “is to help others.”
