British singer Elton John hinted in a recent interview that he is likely to sing at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding, scheduled for next April in London, informs dailymail.co.uk.
The British musician, a friend of Prince William’s mother, Princess Diana, revealed the detail in an interview with BBC Radio 2.
Asked if he is going to perform at the event, Elton John said: “I probably am.” Immediately afterwards, the artist added jokingly: “I’ll probably be busking outside”.
The British singer, aged 63, sang at the funerals of Princess Diana, who died in 1997 in Paris in a car crash. He composed the song “Candle In The Wind” especially for the event, inspired by his friend’s life. This song became the best selling single in history of British music.
Prince William’s marriage to his fiancée Kate Middleton will be held on April 29, 2011, at Westminster in London. The British government has decided that April 29 will be decreed public holiday.
